A dismissal describes the charge or case. It does not supply an exact jail exit time. Likewise, a tentative state release date is planning information, not proof of departure. Match the legal event to the record created by the agency that held the person.

Greene County Prison Release Geography
Facility names create a local trap. South Mississippi Correctional Institution is a large state prison in Greene County near Leakesville. The George/Greene County Correctional Facility is in Lucedale, George County. A searcher who follows only the county word can call the wrong custodian and receive a false no-record answer.
A Greene County conviction does not prove confinement in Greene County. Likewise, the George/Greene name does not show that a discharged person returned to Greene County. MDOC says SMCI was established in 1989 on 360 acres, contains 16 custody units, and has a maximum capacity of 3,082. It confines men in several custody classifications. That scale means Greene County name searches can mix county detainees with a large state-prison population.
